«Pripyat Floodplain» is a unique excursion object that represents a complete, dynamically developing ecosystem, where water, swamp and meadow landscapes are harmoniously combined. Its uniqueness is determined by the annual floods that enrich the soil and create a mosaic of habitats: from flooded forests to islands of dry land covered with fragrant herbs. The lush flowering of the meadows fills the air with a honey fragrance — here you can find mint and many herbs that create a colorful carpet of shades and smells.
The special value of the floodplain is given by the exceptional richness of avifauna: This is a key nesting and stopping area for migrating birds. White and gray herons circle over the water, sandpipers hide in the thickets, nightingales and warblers sing in the crowns, and in the nooks and crannies you can see rare birds — a black stork or a white‑tailed eagle. Each season brings new pictures: spring currents, summer brood chirping, autumn waterfowl clusters.
This ecosystem is a living mechanism where water, plants and animals form an unbreakable chain: Pripyat floods feed the soil, grasses attract insects, they become food for birds, and birds, in turn, regulate the number of invertebrates and spread seeds. Walking along the route, the visitor feels the pulsation of nature, sees how every element — from a tiny flower to a majestic bird-contributes to the stability and beauty of the floodplain landscape, making it one of the most valuable natural corners of the Belarusian Polesie.
