Glacier Trail – an excursion objects that reveals traces of ancient glaciations in the territory of the Pripyat National Park. Walking along the trail, the visitor sees how the centuries-old work of glaciers has shaped the local landscape: created sand ridges and dunes, influenced the course of the Pripyat River and the configuration of swamps. These geological «scars» of the past help us understand why forests, floodplain meadows and swampy lowlands alternate here today, and how glacial processes have determined the diversity of the park’s ecosystems. The trail provides an opportunity not only to see nature, but also to read its history-from the ice age to the modern appearance of Polesie.
