«Valley of Mammoths and Relics» preserves the memory of interglacial epochs, when these lands were home to majestic mammoths, woolly rhinos, cave bears, forest elephants, reindeer and primitive bison. Today, here, among the expanses of Polesie, you can still find living evidence of that distant era – relict plants that managed to survive the change of climatic periods and survive to this day, and on the banks of the Pripyat river you can find the remains of mammoths and other fossil animals. Walking through the valley, the visitor seems to take a trip through time: nature reveals to him the pages of ancient history, combining images of the vanished giants of the past with the surviving fragments of their world. This place clearly shows how closely the destinies of species and landscapes are intertwined, reminding of the delicate balance that allows relics to still adorn the Polessky expanses.
