Matushka Pripyat – is an excursion object that reveals a deep connection between the past and the present through the history of the great river. Pripyat appears here as a living guardian of time: its waters bear the memory of the most ancient epochs, shaping the surrounding world and nourishing the nature of Polesie. Like a caring mother, the river gives life to forests, swamps and meadows, provides habitat for many species, and supports the fertility of floodplain lands.
Walking along the route, the visitor enjoys picturesque views: the smooth curves of the riverbed, the mirror-like surface of the water reflecting the sky and coastal thickets, golden sandbanks and green islands of floodplain meadows. Along the banks, shady groves of oak forests alternate with open spaces where tall grass sways on a windy day, and birds circle over the water. Especially fascinating are sunsets, when the sun paints the water and coastal trees in warm amber tones.
These landscapes help you feel the continuity of the natural cycle – from the source of the Great Lakes to the end of the world. Pripyat to its modern appearance – and understand why this river has been revered since ancient times as a source of life, around which the unique ecosystem of the Belarusian Polesie developed and continues to live.
